“I was trying to get a photo of a woman walking along the steet but I couldn’t get close enough so I took it anyway and then I realised this girl was staring at me for that split second. In the other there’s this guy who only showed up in the print- all sinister. That’s part of what photography is I reckon- it shows you something you wouldn’t have seen otherwise.”

These were shot at the end of a Japan Airlines shoot as international press adverts. After finding the most bustling and energetic streets and signage in Tokyo the client was distraught when back in London Howard learned that the signs shot were mostly advertising ‘adult services’ and could not be used due to their lewd content.
